Meet the Panelists
1. Temwa Gondwe | Award-winning Musician & Founder of He Matters Foundation
Temwa Gondwe, known as Temwah, is a multi-award-winning artist from Lilongwe, Malawi. Born on August 18, 1998, she excels in Neo Soul, Amapiano, R&B, Afro Jazz, and Afro beats. Beyond music, she is a Boy Child Activist, actress, and founder of the HE MATTERS FOUNDATION. Recognized as Female Artist of the Year in 2023 by both the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation and Maso Awards, Temwah collaborates with top brands and mentors young talents through various social initiatives. Her work not only entertains but also educates and inspires across generations.
2. Zikani Nyirenda | Co Founder, Mzuzu Fashion Week
Zikani Nyirenda is a distinguished fashion industry expert and human rights activist with nine years of experience in creative design, production, and business management. As Co-Founder of Mzuzu Fashion Week and Lead Designer at Zik Garvey, Zikani has promoted local talent and industry growth, gaining international recognition. As President of the Fashion Association, he supports local designers and champions economic empowerment and inclusivity for minority groups through creative fashion skills training programs.
3. Otiyela Mtema | Programmes Director at Zaluso Arts
Otiyela Mtema is a dynamic social artist and Programmes Director at Zaluso Arts, a leading arts organization in Malawi. With a background in social science and extensive experience in managing arts-based projects, Otiyela has led initiatives that blend arts and social change. Collaborating with international organizations like the University of Glasgow and Viva Con Agua, Otiyela champions collaboration to foster innovation and drive meaningful change. At Zaluso Arts, Otiyela creates vibrant spaces for creatives and young professionals to connect, learn, and collaborate.
