On September 6, 2024, Bants2Business had the privilege of being a key part of the inaugural Kwathu Konnects event at Kwathu Kowork Spaces in Lilongwe. This event, sponsored by the COSOMA Copyright Fund in collaboration with NICO, was a significant milestone in our mission to empower young creatives and entrepreneurs in Malawi.
Welcoming the Future
The evening began with a warm welcome from our host, Ngugi International, setting an enthusiastic tone for the night. Victor Gondwe, our Chief Operations Officer, delivered the opening remarks, introducing the Bants2Business: Creative Garage. This segment is central to our mission, providing a platform for young creatives to showcase their potential and connect with industry leaders.
Musical Highlights
The event featured a mesmerizing musical performance by Chiko Chalie and Yujin. Their talent and creativity perfectly embodied the evening’s theme: “The Importance of Collaboration for Creativity & Innovation.” Their performance was a testament to the power of artistic collaboration.
Engaging Panel Discussion
A key highlight was the panel discussion moderated by Abigail Zingani. The panel included esteemed creatives like Otiyela Mtema and Zikani Nyirenda, who shared their insights on how collaboration drives innovation. The discussion was both enlightening and inspiring, offering valuable perspectives on the creative process.

The audience actively participated in the Q&A session, engaging with the panelists and exploring the nuances of creative collaboration. Rhoda Kamwaza, Managing Director of Ntha Foundation, concluded the formal proceedings with powerful closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of ongoing support and collaboration within the creative community.
The evening ended with a vibrant networking session, where attendees had the opportunity to forge new connections, share ideas, and discuss potential collaborations over refreshments.
